01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the quaint town of Dale, Texas, The Country Patio serves up hearty, traditional American fare with a focus on fresh, made-from-scratch burgers that leave a lasting impression. Specializing in classic comfort food, this charming roadside restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere where the soothing breeze drifts through the outdoor patio, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal.

Patrons rave about their signature Burgers, especially the Double Meat & Cheese that boasts a thick, juicy patty topped with melted cheese, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, and crisp pickles—all served hot and generously sized. For those who prefer a little variety, the menu also features a flavorful Pepper Jack Burger and a satisfying Veggie Burger, ensuring something delightful for every palate. Don’t miss the Crispy Chicken Burger or the unique Catfish Burger that add a rustic twist to traditional burger fare.

Beyond burgers, the Sandwiches menu offers comforting choices like the stacked Chicken Club, classic BLT, and the melty, savory Patty Melt. Fresh salads such as the robust Chicken & Bacon Caesar and the hearty Taco Salad provide satisfying lighter options without skimping on flavor or quality.

What truly sets The Country Patio apart is the combination of generous portions, fresh ingredients, and an atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. Customers consistently praise the friendly, attentive staff and the value that comes with every meal. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or planning to linger on the inviting patio, the experience feels warm, genuine, and deeply satisfying.

Regular visitors like Deborah Antich appreciate the "wonderful kind and friendly staff" and the charm of sharing a meal outdoors with the breeze flowing through. Nicolas S. highlights the impressively large burgers, cautioning newcomers that a single burger is often more than enough—a testament to the hearty servings. Eduardo Padilla notes the clear advantage of fresh, house-made food coupled with generous portions and a greater value when compared to typical fast-food chains. Heather Marie Solis elegantly sums it up as a "hidden gem" that’s worthy of a detour, while Marie Aguilar's spontaneous burger run turned into a delicious discovery, eagerly planning her next visit for a chicken-fried steak.

Whether you find yourself passing through the Dale area or seeking out a satisfying meal on your way between San Marcos, Kyle, and Bastrop, The Country Patio offers a genuine taste of Texas hospitality and flavor. Don’t forget to try their hush puppies—an addictive southern side that perfectly complements the main dishes. Prepare your appetite for a cozy, flavorful experience that blends cuisine, comfort, and community.

Please be aware. Burgers are HUGE. Unless you have a big stomach, single party will be plenty. Burger was fresh and hot. Keeping it simple and great. Very surprised there isn't more people stopping by for a burger here. Will be back when we're in the area again.

Hearty, traditional burgers with a thick well-cooked patty and fresh let/tom/pkl. Large portions of fresh, crisp, crinkle-cut fries. Plus plenty of the other usual suspects (tenders, O-rings, etc etc...). Service isn't as fast as chain FF places, but the wait gets you a few things; 1. Fresh food, actually made in house. 2. A significantly better value, both for quality AND quantity! 3. A staff that is friendly and professional without seeming fake. Added bonus - the staff doesn't brow beat you into some outrageous tip. My only regret is having only gone a handful of times over the past ~8yrs living nearby. Doubly so, considering their quality hasn't dropped one iota over that time frame.

WOW, now this is why I love the small towns. This meal was absolutely delicious. I mean just look at this burger. This is NOT a big city burger. The hush puppies were divine & the tots were perfect.. Highly recommended.

MAKE THE TRIP. We got lucky and took a chance pulling in here to satisfy a burger craving between Red Rock and South Austin. The owner is a friendly lifelong central Texan and we could taste the love his old school burger & fries. Everything was fresh and we loved watching the longhorns roam across the way on a neighbor's steady. We will be back to try the chicken fried steak! PS- there is a bathroom but no indoor seating. Plenty of shade though!

WOW, is all I can say about this place. The burger was huge, and full flavored. The onion rings followed suit, and was easy on the pocket book! The menu of this little gem was quite extensive, so I’ll be coming back. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and pull in!
